Shenandoah River Loop - Rapha Day 5

So now I have 243 miles (with 2 days off) or 391 kilometers of the Rapha 500 kilometer challenge with a couple of days to go! It looks like the weather will be favourable the next two days. All of my rides have begun and/or ended at the Raw Talent Ranch Annex at the Unison Store. The riding out of here in this area is the best that the Mid-Atlantic has to offer.

Today I explored some new roads on the other side of the Shenandoah from the blue Mountains. These roads were spectacular! The river was to my left pretty much the whole way as the roads rolled along with a few hills, some super old buildings and tons of horses, sheep and cows. Most of the roads were dirt and tree lined.
I normally cross the river on HWY 7 or 50 which isn't so bad because they both have huge shoulders but today I found this little tiny single lane bridge in the middle of nowhere. I am going to start incorporating it in my training rides.

  1. Looks like great riding, I'm jealous. Be interesting to see that bridge when the river is really up. See you on the roads.
